“The Legend of Four Corners” Dean Smith is most associated with his implementation of the “Four Corners” offense, a strategy for stalling with a lead near the end of the game. Smith’s teams executed the Four Corners set so effectively that in 1985, the NCAA instituted a shot clock to speed up play and minimize ball-control offense. Four Corners bar on Franklin Street provides a fantastic sports bar atmosphere to Chapel Hill residents and visitors, all while tipping its hat to the one of the greatest coaches in the history of collegiate athletics. With recent renovation, all twenty televisions are High-Definition and carry all the major sports packages (NFL Sunday Ticket, ESPN Game Plan, etc.).
