Active

Mornings in Steamboat feel crisp and grounded, the kind that make you step outside just to breathe it in. Along Lincoln Avenue, steam drifts from coffee cups as shop doors swing open. Bakeries are filling their cases with fresh pastries, gear shops are adjusting their displays, and the faint gurgling of the Yampa River. The boardwalks creak under boots and bike tires alike, a reminder that this is a town that works and plays in the same space. By afternoon, locals trade ski jackets for aprons and welcome neighbors into restaurants, galleries, and markets. When the sun drops behind Howelsen Hill, the streetlights glow against snow-dusted roofs, and conversation spills from open doors. Small businesses keep this valley connected, turning visitors into regulars.

Nicole Orth

Local Account Manager

Hi, I’m Nicole! I grew up in Central Minnesota and later spent 13 wonderful years in Montana, where I truly fell in love with the mountains. Skiing, hiking, and wide-open spaces have left me with unforgettable memories. Nothing beats a midnight sky out West while backpacking. These days I call Northwest North Carolina home, which I love for its sense of community and the easy access it gives me to traveling. I am always seeking a destination to explore and interact with new cultures and new ways of living. My professional background includes restaurant hospitality and management, community health, and nonprofit work, all of which have shaped how I connect with people. As a Local Account Manager, I enjoy building quality relationships and thoughtfully matching businesses with opportunities. I’m especially grateful to work in a role that supports small, local businesses and helps communities thrive just the way it should be.
