Spartanburg

Spartanburg started as a textile town, and its mill villages are still here, still have names, and still feel like neighborhoods. BMW came in and changed what gets made, but not how it feels to live here. After a rough patch, downtown has been coming back quickly, with changes in what gets made. The farmers market runs Saturday mornings, and people show up early. There's a breakfast spot that's been on the same corner for decades, and it still fills up before nine. The old downtown buildings now have breweries in them, and people keep coming back. Duncan and Inman are quieter, more spread out. People there know where they go and stick to it. Spartanburg isn't trying to be something it isn't. That's kind of the point.
