Fort Myers

Florida

Active

Fort Myers sits along the Caloosahatchee with a pace that splits the difference between beach town and working county seat. What began as an 1880s cattle shipping point grew into Lee County's anchor, where healthcare systems, a university, and seasonal residents all shape daily life. The River District downtown holds its own against the corridors spreading south, independent shops filling storefronts under old royal palms. Residents cycle through trusted casual eateries for weeknight dinners, the kind of places where servers know which booth a family prefers and the specials change with whatever the boats brought in. You'll find craft breweries have taken root here too, taprooms pulling retirees, young families, and hospital staff into food truck nights and Tuesday trivia. Weekend afternoons wind down at a local ice cream counter, kids picking through dozens of flavors while parents settle into the line that only forms when a shop has earned decades of loyalty.

Alaina Franks

Local Account Manager

Hi! My name is Alaina Franks. I am a proud Fairview, NC native - a small tight-knit town right on the outskirts of Asheville. My love for local business stems from my family's rich history of owning and operating businesses in Buncombe County for over 100 years. I understand the love and hard work that is poured into every day as a business owner. In Fall of 2023 I traded my corporate marketing career for a role at LoLo with the anticipation of helping bridge the gap between small businesses and their communities. Where I was raised, and LoLo was brought to life, supporting local has always been a core belief. My joy comes in the form of a warm cup of local coffee while I browse a cozy bookstore… or a freshly-brewed cider and locally-raised burger at the brewery while the dogs and kids play… and of course some live bluegrass playing in the background! With each LoLo gift that I send, I hope that I give someone else a reason to stop in and get a little taste of that joy that I so love!
